Book Review #13

Yama

Reviewed By: Ms. Nita Samantaray

The book “Yama’’ is thoughtfully crafted. Well said by “Author Kevin Missal”, ‘’If you want to write a good novel then start it with someone’s death’’. That perfectly reflects in his book. The story starts when Yama is going to kill his first sinner ‘Daksh Galgotia’, there comes the entry of Iravan Rajpoot, who is a private investigator, a family lover and also had an experience of four years for being a Black cat Commando in Srinagar. Before every kill that Yama does, he always sent a letter to Iravan. “Find the hell to his sin and the sin to his hell” written over it with the name of sinner he is going to kill, with the time limit. Yama does several kills in the same brutal manner and before every kill he surely sent a letter along with the name of sinner to Iravan. Why he do this? No one knows. The second half of the book gets more interesting when Iravan gives his best in search for Yama. In the end of the story, Irvin Rajput came to know about the real identity of Yama. What made him to become Yama? , what happened to Yama after that? A lot questions came in mind while reading this book.

The story runs at a perfect pace and the grip of author on his story in good. Author’s narration is simple but effective; he knows the art of getting readers attraction. Full credits goes to the Author for maintaining the thrill and suspense till the very last page of the book. With lots of twists and turns in the story, this book is a complete thriller that will entertain you till the last page.

I would strongly recommend this book to those who are fond of thrilling and suspense read.
